I have lived in San Jose, California my whole life and received my degree in accounting from San Jose State University in 1988. I began my accounting career with KPMG Peat Marwick, one of the Big Four accounting firms. I started with KPMG as a tax accountant and later transferred to their Middle Market department which specializes in the audits of smaller, non-public companies.

After more than two years at KPMG, I decided to move to a smaller, more intimate local accounting firm. There, I eventually became an accounting and tax manager. Specializing in both accounting and taxes allowed me to help my clients in all areas of their businesses and to establish strong, trusting relationships with them. After ten years at this firm, I left the workforce to stay home full time with my two sons.
